Februarys FNSI

Tomorrow is our FNSI so this is a quick post for sign ups.   I’m in Brisbane at the moment catching up with friends and family before the 25th Tilda Jubilee anniversary event on Saturday.

I’m a little excited to hear from Tone Finnegan about her career and inspirations along with 599 others!  I quite like her last fabric line and the jubilee line too.  I’ve had fun with both of these and I dare say there’ll be a few more designs to purchase on the weekend!

Needless to say I’ve left sign ups till the last minute as I’ve been a little pre-occupied! Lol.

Sign ups are below, or on our Facebook group page…all are welcome and I look forward to stitching with you, wherever you are.   I’ll draw winners for last month and this month when I get back home!
Don’t miss out. Big sweet stitchy hugs xox

Our January FNSI get together

 Hi All,

and welcome to 2024 and our first FNSI for the year!

I apologise for not posting for a while.....Cyclone Jasper got me before Christmas.  He mucked up all the telecommunications up in the north and although he didn't impact us physically, he certainly made his presence known by limiting what we could access.  I thought it was a computer update but I found out later it was waterlogged communications.   I did have the post organised but couldn't post...so annoying!

That does mean I have a few draws to catch up on!  So let's get into those before I progress!
So, each lady has won a $30 voucher to go towards their purchases at our wonderful sponsor Kitty Rose Cottage!   I say, go towards because there's so many beautiful things there, it is hard to limit yourself!!!!  That doesn't mean you can't just use the $30 but I bet you won't be able to resist!!!!
Our winner from our October FNSI was stitching along with 23 other ladies from around the world and we had a marvelous night.   The winner for October is:

In November, we had 27 ladies stitch along. We had a lovely time and I always find it very inspiring and gets me motivated to catch up on things I've started and put down "for a bit"!  Our November winner is:

December was as much fun, although with people preparing for holidays and Christmas and parties, our FNSI only had 17 people join.  Despite that, we still managed to get lots of Christmas gifts finished and our winner for December is:

Congratulations to all three ladies.  I hope you've got your shopping lists ready and I'd love to see what you purchase with your voucher when it arrives.  Feel free to post a picture in our Facebook group so we can all ooh and aaah together!!!!

I must sincerely thank our sponsor, Dawn at Kitty Rose Cottage.

She is, and always has been a huge supporter of our group and a very active member (although I can't add her to our prize wheel....that might be a bit weird!!!)  Thank you to everyone for joining in for 2023 and here's to a bigger and more exciting 2024 FNSI.
Now for this month's FNSI sign ups. Remember it's open worldwide so don't be shy!  You know the drill......you sign up below OR on the Facebook group post for this month.  Can't wait to 'see' you this Friday night. Here's to a bigger and mightily inspirational year ahead for all of us.

Big sweet sugary hugs xox :o)

October FNSI....can you believe it?

Wow this calendar's on fast forward, I'm sure!

Probably because I've moved back home from living at Mum-in-law's house for the past 5 months and started a new job. Mum's doing well despite having a 'dicky knee' and I still pop around every couple of days to take her bins out, do her shopping and take her to appointments.

So sewing's taken a back seat, although I do try to do a little every day....for my sanity and everyone else's safety!!!

The internet is playing nice this month so I'll post a couple of pictures to show you what I've been up to!

I've been catching up on some more of my Little Box of Creativity Kits.  I absolutely adore these kits.  If you don't know about them, pop on over to our beautiful sponsor's shop HERE and you can sign up for them too!

I also managed to squeeze in a FMQ class in Townsville with Bev McClune.  I can't recommend her highly enough...Her teaching style is just so easy, and she teaches to your level of experience.   I even got to play on a Sweet Sixteen so I feel much more confident using mine now!

And I always manage to fit in a chat with my little man!!!!   Can you believe he'll be two next month???

Now to the nitty gritty......

It's Friday Night Sew In this Friday so you can sign up below or on our Facebook Group page.  If you're not a member yet just pop over and ask to join.... it's so easy, and you get to see what everyone's doing on Friday night as they're doing it!   It's the best 'stay at home' party ever!!!

Our winner from last month will be very happy with their $30 voucher from Kitty Rose Cottage I'm sure!   Tilda's 'Hibernation' range is now out so maybe you could put your winnings towards that?

It's just adorable with it's little sleepy squirrels and fall inspired colour palette!!!!

Well the Wheel has spoken and our lucky winner for September is:........

Congratulations Karen...if you could swing me a PM with your email address, I'll pass it on to Dawn to get your prize to you!

I"m about to go off to work so good luck and fingers crossed for Friday!

Big sugary hugs

Our September Sign Ups for FNSI.....a frustrating exercise!

I have been trying to get this post up since Tuesday but both Tuesday and Wednesday, we've had issues with our internet'(thanks internet company!!!) and today it's working and now Microsoft have decided to update their photo app and it's taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r to upload my photos from my phone to the computer!!!! Neither can I access any pages on the internet, even though it's working.  What have they done???   Aaargh....when did technology become so hard!?

Unfortunately that means this post is going to be very dull with no pictures....snooze fest....as I had lots to show you.  My computer says minimum 4 hours uploading my photos.......you do NOT want to know what thoughts are spinning around in my head!  **EDIT  Managed to get two photos up....not pushing my luck with any more! xx

So, to make it easy I'll just draw a winner from our last month's FNSI and you'll just need to trust me on the draw as I can't show you.

The winner of the August FNSI is going to win a $30 voucher to spend at Kitty Rose Cottage and there is so much to choose from.  I'm loving the new Tilda range "Hibernation" with the cute little slumbering mice and the Autumn blooms.  I've had to go 'old school' and draw the winner our of a bucket!

Congratulations this month goes to JEANETTE GRAHAM!!!!!  I hope you have lots of fun choosing your prize!

I've managed to get Mr Linky working so you can at least sign up for our get together this Friday night and I'll have the Facebook group page as a backup for sign ups, as I normally do, so whichever way suits you....we'll be there!    I am looking forward to stitching tomorrow with you all to relieve all this stress this computer business is giving me!!!!

Remember, sitting down at your sewing machine can turn a so-so day into a sew-sew day!

happy stitching and big sugary hugs

August FNSI sign ups and a winner or two

I nearly slipped up....who would have thunk that this week was week 3 of the month....already?????

Last month I was early and eager, this month it feels like FNSI was only a week ago!  I'm sure this year has faster skates on than last year!

Anyhoo......we must do some draws, but not before I show you a couple of my 'finishes'!

This will become a cushion and I must admit, I have unpicked the wording stitching as I didn't like the thread colour and have restitched it in a lavender which looks lovely.  Next in line for a finish.
I love this pencil case....I think I'll use it for my sewing bits and bobs!  Added some additional buttons as I can't get my suffolk puffs tight enough to look neat!   A quick cover up!!!
This one's been on the pile for a long time (as you can see) but I finally pulled it out and finished it to flimsy stage....next job is quilting it!  Really love this one....... it has bunnies!!!
And I could not have done it without my two budding helpers!!!!   Never far away!
Now to the draws..
I promised two as I was a week early, so the first one is for the early birds...... the $30 voucher from our wonderful sponsor Kitty Rose Cottage.

By the way, have you seen the new Tilda Hibernation Range?????     Delish!  Pop on over and pre-order some for yourself.  You can even put it on Layby! (ie - pay it off.)

The second draw is for my Christmas in July joiner-innerers??!!?!?! Is that how it's spelt?  Anyway, you know what I mean.  This prize is from my Tilda stash .....my CHRISTMAS Tilda Stash.....so it's very special and I know whoever wins it will love it!  There's some lovely vintage Tilda's in there!

Now without further ado....
our first winner of the $30 voucher from Kitty Rose Cottage is......

Congratulations Dzintra.....I'll be in touch!   lots to choose from!

And our winner for the Christmas in July promo is.....

Congratulations Vicki Kay!   I'll be in touch with you too to  organise posting your prize!  Hope you love it like I do!

Now don't forget to sign up for this Friday night's stitch in!  I'm sure I've got the right night this time!   I'll be out all day at the Craft Alive Fair in Townsville but will be sure to be stitching with some new goodies Friday night! (without a doubt!)

Have a great rest of the week and big sugary hugs to you all xox :o)

What I've been up to and July FNSI sign ups

The last two months have whizzed by.  I haven't lived in my own home but been staying as a carer with my mother in law and popping home daily to check on things since she returned from her rehab in the SEQ.  Between doctors appointments, physio, chiro, specialists and exercise classes there's not much time left to get much done!  She's doing well, by the way and looking good....the cat (Missy) is so happy to have her home and she's feeling much better after her heart attack earlier this year.  She's back into her cooking (which is her happy place)  but resting lots more.

She's not doing too badly for an 84 year old who's never been 'really' sick.  It's only been in the last year or so that she's started to take any tablets for anything other than panadol so she's done pretty well considering.

Consequently, I haven't got much done in the way of sewing....I've a few hand projects I've been working on getting done, or at least getting the hand stitching parts of projects done so I'm progressing slowly.....just nothing on the machine for now.

Even Moccha approves!!!

But today it's time to catch up and do some draws and prepare for this week's FNSI don't you think?

So, I talked to Mr Linky and checked with our Facebook Group Leader (me!!) and added a whole lotta names in the Wheel for May....(there were 40 of you.....I think that's our record so far...it's awesome having so many like minded stitchers join in) .......and remember I said there'd be TWO winners for May as it was my birthday month?

Well the first of our two lucky winners, who will receive our regular monthly prize of a $30 voucher donated by the lovely Dawn of Kitty Rose Cottage, is........

Congratulations gorgeous girl.....hope you enjoy your prize and purchase something you've always wanted!!!

The next prize was a special one as a birthday prize to say thank you for celebrating my birthday with me.   This person will receive a Tilda Club kit which has 6 Tilda Garden Life fat quarters and a beautiful pattern designed by Tied With A Ribbon.

Congratulations to Cheryll Shannon!!!!!  I hope you enjoy your special birthday prize!

And finally, The Wheel got another spin......do you think it's starting to get dizzy??  Our June winner was drawn from a list of 33 who joined in and our winner was.......

Congratulations to you Colleen Dunn.....you've won yourself a $30 voucher to spend at Kitty Rose Cottage on whatever your heart desires!  what a way to start the term!!!!

Now it's time to get ourselves sorted for this week's FNSI.....

Sign ups are below or on our Facebook Group page.  I'm looking forward to stitching with you all.  Have a wonderful week...back at school for Queenslanders too.....can't wait for Friday!

Big sugary hugs xox :o)
